Alton Towers raises entrance fee.

Despite entrance fees rising by £2 to £34 at the start of the season, Alton have continued their usual mid season price hike of previous years, and added another £1.  So an on-the-day ticket is now £35 for an adult.  Child prices, and family prices remain unchanged.  The £35 entrance fee makes Alton Towers the most expensive park in Europe. Alton Towers 26th April 2008

First visit in over a month, was starting to have withdrawl symptoms.

At last, had some good weather.  The sun was shinning, and was a warm and pleasent day.

Arrived at around 8.15am, being the early bird I am.  Quick look around the hotel, then took the monorail to the entrance.  Got to ride the newly refurbished Splash landings train. Read the rest of this entry »

Alton Towers 23rd Feb 2008

Already on my 3rd visit of the year, having already visited on the 9th & 10th of Feb.

This is the last weekend of the Hullabaloo half term event, which has proved so popular that extra rides have been opened n addition to those already advertised.

Arriving at the Park around 9am, had to negotiate many of the stewards present, as the date was also the date a cross country running event was taking place at Alton Towers.

The park was expected to be busy by early afternoon, but although many people were about, thanks to decent ride capacity, queues were kept to a minumum, with only Air & Spinball getting a queue of more than 20 minutes.
